God’s Magic Potion for Business Success??

God, I’m thinking about people who offer business advice exclusively to Christians…

And?

Well, I don’t like it. It’s an easy market to capture, too easy, there’s something not quite right about it.

Too easy?

Yes, Christians are gullible! If the pastor says it, or they see it on social media that this person has what amounts to ‘God’s Magic Potion For Business’, they’re likely to believe it. It’s like taking ice cream from babies.

Ice cream from babies?

Taking their money, Christians are way too ready to believe what they’re told – it’s too easy for unscrupulous people to take advantage of them. Christians throw their money at anyone who’s marketed as the latest ‘Christian’ teacher or guru. A bit of slick marketing and next thing they’re opening their purses hoping for God’s silver bullet on anything from business and money, to relationships and sex, and everything else in between.

Are you perhaps a little jealous?

Well, yes, I guess, if I’m honest, yes… being popular is appealing, there’s no denying that…

But then what?

I don’t think I could live with myself if I took advantage of Christian business people by pretending that bundling up a bunch of bible verses and scriptural principles is the silver bullet for getting God to make your business successful. It’s just not true!

What’s wrong with running their businesses on a bunch of bible verses?

Plenty. First off, those things are what you said to certain people thousands of years ago. It would make a lot more sense for a business person to find out what you are saying specifically to them, right now.

Taking a bunch of bible principles and artfully twisting them to sound like God’s magic potion for business is a great way to fleece Christian business people, but it isn’t the answer to how to achieve business success. It just isn’t. You know that!

Yes, I do, but…

God, there are no ‘buts’, it robs people of the opportunity to listen to you speak to them one on one about their businesses. You and I both know that’s the answer

So, what do you intend to do about it?

I honestly don’t know! But what I do know, is that if a person truly wants your involvement in their business, the best course of action is a proper conversation with you — like this, to actually speak with you, one on one, about their business. They talk, you talk back. You and them thrashing it out on a very regular basis, finding out direct from you what you are saying about their business.

It’s so simple and it only takes five minutes to learn, why, for goodness sakes, doesn’t anyone seem to know this?? It gets my goat, God, it really does, the way people complicate everything with religious principles and rules when all they need to do is have a conversation with you.

And you honestly think that would work?

Of course it would, you know it would! They talk, you talk back. You and them thrashing it out on a very regular basis, finding out direct from you what you are saying about their business.
